Single payer, universal healthcare is the ONLY practical solution for America's beleagered healthcare system.

A nation of sick or semi-sick individuals cannot be individually or globally competitive, cannot be the best they can be in terms of personal fulfillment or success.

Successful, productive people are happy, healthy people, and vice versa.

In a democracy, citizens and government have a symbiotic relationship. I believe that every citizen in the richest nation in the world has what is arguably a justifiable expectation that our government will protect our right to enjoy good health by serving the common good. The common good is a healthy nation, for the same reasons stated above. A sickly nation is a liability. A healthy nation is a boon.

We should get smart and look at this in practical, efficient terms.

If we can get a better level of care for less money that covers everybody, why are we resisting it?

It's not rocket science. The only possible answer has to be greed. The only people that benefit are the CEOs and the insurance companies. And we owe them this because...?

I believe we owe our citizens more than we owe those who would seek to make a profit off the backs of our nation's poor, sick, disabled, and elderly.
